What am I thinking?

Dear Best Bud,

I was just thinking (and no, it didn't hurt) . Do we really pay attention to the things we say "thank you" for? I just caught myself saying thank you to the mail guy who delivered 5 boxes of mail for me to distribute. What was I thinking? I've even told BN-er thank you a few times and I'm sure I didn't mean it. I'd probably tell a policeman thank you after he hands me a ticket for speeding. "Thank you, Mr. Policeman. Can I have another?"
